This quote cannot be more relevant than in a scenario with the looming global pandemic coronavirus spreading its reach. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">Stock markets have crashed, international travel has been banned, borders have been shut &#8211; deeply impacting tourism and event-based businesses. <\/span><span class=\"s1\">While businesses are grappling with these uncontrollable turns of events, some smart entrepreneurs are turning these obstacles into rewarding entities that can help social causes.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3294\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3294\" style=\"width: 203px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3294\" src=\"https:\/\/globalindianstories.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Taj-Mahal-Headshot--300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"203\" height=\"203\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3294\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">DFW SAFF and NYC SAFF Founder and Festivals Director, CEO Jingo Media\u00a0Jitin Hingorani<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe are using the idea and the concept of a film festival, but we are making it bigger and better,\u201d confirmed DFW SAFF and NYC SAFF Founder and Festivals Director\u00a0Jitin Hingorani, in an exclusive interview with globalindianstories.org.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\">\u201cWe have curated a diverse lineup of escapist cinema that will enable people to forget what is going on in the world for just two hours each week,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\">Sister South Asian Film Festivals\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dfwsaff.com\/\"><span class=\"s2\">DFW SAFF<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nycsaff.com\/\"><span class=\"s2\">NYC SAFF<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0both conceptualised, curated and produced by Dallas and NYC-based, PR and events management firm\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jingomedia.com\/\"><span class=\"s2\">JINGO Media<\/span><\/a>, (that Jitin Hingorani heads as the CEO) are about to embark on a new digital chapter of their six-year combined journey.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>They co-present\u00a0ECSA, Escapist Cinema of South Asia, a seven-week, online series running from May 16th to June 27th,\u00a0that will live stream a new film(s)\u00a0<span class=\"s3\">every Saturday night (7pm to 10pm CDT)<\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0to entertain, engage, and educate cinephiles who are observing shelter-in-place during the pandemic anywhere in the world.<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s4\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s1\">He explained further through a statement: \u201cThe cinema-going\u00a0world, as we know it, is changing drastically, as local theatres shut shop and major chains consider filing for bankruptcy.\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">Since everyone is now consuming content online, film festivals, an important cog in the wheel of the entertainment ecosystem, are forced\u00a0to react to this major shift in viewing behaviour and adapt their formats accordingly. The goal is to collect\u00a025,000 masks\u00a0over the seven weeks and help keep US medical workers safe on the front lines.
